BACKGROUND
From the early 80s there were Midi keyboards with weighted keys or "piano keys' that served as a good keyboard. They are still around as good keyboards. But when the software instruments became common in the late in the around 2000 there was a need of smaller controllers for these instruments. There are a number of these affordable keyboards on the market today. One popular Evolution.
DESCRIPTION
Evolution Mk-461C is suited for computer based programming of software instruments, but can be used together with hardware instruments and Midi devices as well as for performing on stage.
Evolution is a M-Audio company and the 400 series has 3 different models:
- Mk-425C with 25 keys
- Mk-449C with 49 keys
- Mk-461C with 61 keys
Mk-461 has following controllers, that all are programmable:
- Pitch bend
- Modulation wheel
- 10 Buttons
- 2 Octave selectors (+ / -)
- 9 Faders
- 12 Knobs
At the rear:
- USB Port
- Midi out
- Sustain (can change polarity)
- On/Off
- 9 V in, if not powered by USB
